Albany Total Waste is a leading player in the safe collection and redistribution of all kinds of bulk liquid waste. Our aim is to remove the need for disposal to landfill by employing the most suitable environmental options and eliminating the need for disposal.
Albany provides an audited hazardous and chemical waste service, including: technical support, tracking, inspection and certification. Over nearly two decades we have built working relationships with laboratories, the cosmetics industry, chemical blenders, coatings manufacturers and specialist plating companies.
Instead of taking the coagulated waste from industrial ‘water wash’ commercial spray booth process plants, to landfill, which is costly and unnecessary, Albany uses the anaerobic digestion process to convert this sludge into bio-gas which can then be used to fuel Combined Heat and Power plants producing renewable energy.
Biodegradable wastes such as machine emulsions, glycol solutions, water-based paints and other high COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) wastes are all good energy producers. Gases produced in the digestion disposal process can be used as fuels to generate electricity.
We collect bulk liquid wastes from any kind of container, as well as storage pits, tanks, drums, spray booths and more. We also provide tank cleaning, water jetting, chemical cleaning, drain cleaning and other related tasks.

DMR (Dry Mixed Recycling), is waste which is free from contaminants. It may include glass, plastic, paper and cardboard and is one of the most common forms of waste recycling.
At the outset Albany will carry out an audit of your commercial waste streams to determine what we consider to be the best approach for your business. This could be anything from on-site segregation to the use of a single-stream waste bin.
Recycling of dry mixed waste is the most efficient way of reducing landfill and increasing the recovery of resources from business waste. Albany’s programme of continuous improvement means we strive to achieve even greater efficiencies to ensure all recyclables are recovered...our aim is to:
• Provide cost effective and compliant waste management
• Help optimise your company’s environmental impact
• Reduce your costs to landfill
We will work with your company to ensure as much of your waste as possible is segregated and recycled. Albany’s policy is to recycle as much of your waste as possible to produce new materials or generate green energy.
While some material cannot be recycled, it will be managed ethically to ensure its impact on the environment is minimised and your company’s carbon footprint reduced.

Waste electrical and electronic equipment, known as WEEE, is one of the fastest growing forms of waste. It is usually made up of different constituents such as metals and glass and chemicals such as mercury, lead and phosphorous.
This diverse range of materials contains poisons such as arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury, as do some types of flame retardants. All pose significant health risks and require professional knowledge and management in the recycling or disposal process.
Each year in the UK, an estimated 2 million tonnes of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment is generated; this comes by way of businesses and households and includes most products with a plug or battery as a power source, for example…
• IT and telecoms equipment…CRT monitors, laptops, hard drives, keyboards, disk drives, servers, cables, motherboards, smart ‘phones, tablets, printers, photocopiers and telephones
• Office appliances, fridges, freezers, washing machines, microwaves, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, clocks, toasters, electric fans, electric radiators, hot drinks machines and air conditioning units
• Electronic and electrical tools
• Monitoring and control equipment, smoke detectors and heating regulators
• Lighting
• Medical equipment; freezers, cardiology equipment, scanners and dialysis machines
As with any of the commercial waste management services provided by Albany, recycling as much of your WEEE waste as possible is always our ultimate goal.
